Easy Cream Cheese Danish Bites

Breakfast, dessert, snack?

Save money and make it yourself!

I decided to make these because my boyfriend loves danishes. He always brings one to work everyday. We do buy a pack from Sam's, but he doesn't really eat the other pastries like bear claws, etc. I told him I'll just make him some pastries every week instead of wasting money on food that he doesn't eat!!! Last week I made him Pianomo Rolls (Swiss Rolls) so this week are these danish bites. They aren't too small or too big. They're perfect to eat on the go. They may not be as fancy as regular danishes, but they are delicious! So simple, they only take about 15 minutes. Have the kids help out :D

Easy Cream Cheese Danish Bites

(Prep Time: 5 min Cook Time: 10 min Yield: 2-4 Servings)

INGREDIENTS:

1 Tube Croissant Dough

3 Tbs Softened Cream Cheese

2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

1-2 Tbs Sugar

1/2 Lemon, Squeezed

1 Tbs Sugar, Reserve on side

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.

2. Unroll croissant dough (I split mine in half) and pinch seams together.

3. Cut strips about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Then, gently twist each strand.

4. With each twisted piece of dough, gently form a spiral onto a lined sheet pan.

5. Add a teaspoon (or however much you like) of cream cheese filling on each spiral.

6. Sprinkle sugar on each pastry.

7. Preheat oven, making sure to follow directions on the croissant dough package.

8. Bake about 10-12 minutes. (I baked at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 10 minutes)

9. Transfer baked goods onto a cool surface or cooling rack and let cool for 10-15 minutes.

10. Enjoy!

You could even add fresh fruits, jams, chocolate, etc. Make it how you want it but most important, have fun and enjoy it!
